First Street Transit GalleryĀ
Located in the heart of downtown Long Beach on 1st St. between Pine and Pacific Ave., eight bus shelters labeled A – H make up the First Street Transit Gallery. The area serves as the hub for LBT’s major routes and other local, sub-regional and regional transit systems such as Metro and Torrance.Ā Ā
Each bus shelter in the First Street Transit Gallery features a permanent public art collection of Lithomosaic designs by artist Robin Brailsford, as well as poetry by various authors with a connection to Long Beach. The permanent artwork reflects the City as a vibrant and diverse coastal community.
There is also a community art installation on display in the Gallery, with new art exhibits each quarter in partnership with local cultural and educational institutions.
